“ I've had leftovers from the Bavarian and dropped in for Taste of Bragg Creek a couple times before. But New Year's Eve was the first time I've ever had a proper sit down. (We went with the NYE menu because it was a special occasion). And honestly? I totally get why this place has the reputation it does now. The staff are all so nice. Especially Chef Johnny, Nadia and Reid. The atmosphere is very relaxed—perfect for having an intimate conversation with friends or family. And the food presentation is beautiful to look at. With a nice mix of familiar items like ravioli alongside more adventurous things like goose liver or Elderflower. Personally, the consomme and this scallop potato thing? served with the brocolini and beef tenderloin were standouts for me. It really is a unique culinary experience for Bragg Creek and the Calgary area. If you come bring a friend. ”
“ This is the first time we come to this restaurant and we love it . For table, usually you have to book it first on the website in order to get the best seat the booking process is easy and you can also give them a call to book a table. We were late for our booking but the server was absolutely kind to give us the best seat in the restaurant so we can get some privacy and enjoy the view of the mountain. I totally forgot what I ordered but if you want to order same as mine, just give them the photo from my review. I’m sure the server will kindly let you what is it and also please try their bear because it is the best beer I had so far. Totally recommend for family dinner or couples dates. Overall 10/10 ”

“ It was our first visit, but it won't be our last! Had a wonderful meal. Tentative staff who answered all of our questions, not only about the menu but about the restaurant too. Each of us had different entrees and accompanying beverages. The cordon blue was cooked perfectly and the mushroom sauce topped it perfectly. This sauce was also amazing on the Spatzle, which was light and fluffy. The side dish of red cabbage was scrumptious and was highlighted with cinnamon. Yummy. Another dish was wiener schnitzel, which was crispy and so tasty. Our third meal was the bison rouladen. The meat was so tender, tasty, and filled with perfectly caramelized apples. To top off the meal, the most spectacular coffees were enjoyed alongside apple streusel with vanilla icecream ABS whipped cream. The Bav The Tav is a gem! ”

“ Had a wonderful experience visiting with family — a group of seven, including parents and kids. The drinks menu was impressive, offering a wide selection of beers. The food menu featured authentic, traditional German dishes, rich in flavor and variety. The kids’ menu included several great options and even offered ice cream for dessert. The washroom was thoughtfully equipped with a baby changing table, which was a nice touch. We’ll definitely be coming back! ”
“ The pretzel is a MUST! Between the camembert beer cheese and the mustard samplers, it’s a fantastic part of German cuisine. I’m also a diehard for spaetzle, and it was perfect with the wiener schnitzel. The schnitzel was thin and crispy (as it should be) and has the option for either a slice of lemon or a mushroom gravy. We were also there for their white asparagus specials, so definitely worth trying out their seasonal features! ”
